In the embrace of financial crisis, lots of people seem to be struggling to get a steady job and steady income. However, as we all know, we future engineers definitely own the ability to survive in the world, regardless of how bad the surrounding is. Thus, the age of engineers has come.
Since 40 years ago, the market of job hunting has been changing through all these years. More and more engineers are needed along with the expanding of the field where engineers can serve. Engineers don’t only concern manufacturing electronic goods, but also take a step further into the service sector. Nowadays, engineers also take on the responsibility for leading the revolution of this service sector. Quite obviously, the age of engineers is coming where almost all kinds of fields can’t live without the technology that engineers can apply as well as the actual products that engineers can produce.
We are not advertising for ourselves, but the truth is that the world really needs engineers, needs the day-by-day progressing engineers.
In order to meet the need of the whole world, the internal part of the engineers is being optimized all along. Take the changing ratio between male engineers and female engineers for example. Unlike previous times when you can hardly see any female engineers, today it is a harmonious situation where men and women eat their equally big cake. Just as the saying goes, women can and should support one half of the whole sky. More and more women engineers are taking their steps into the field of engineering and becoming one of the hostesses who master this fast changing world. And actually, they are truly doing some significant things to the whole world, which we are all pleased to see.
As to we future engineers, the biggest problem is to solve global warming-a horrible thing that can even destroy our lovely planet. What we need to do is just to find an environmentally friendly form of energy. Sounds easy, huh? But, it isn’t actually. As to us engineering students, all we can do is to solid what we are learning in universities and learn how to think critically in order to be well prepared for the future challenge.
I believe that we will manage to solve this problem, and what’s more, this age of engineers will last long as long as we engineers soldier on!

I agree with the point that engineers are being needed and required in almost all field in these days. I hope that with our ability and new-found knowledge, maybe one day we can solve this financial crisis too.
i hold the same opinion with yongmeng. engineers are required alomost everywhere in the coming days. maybe several years later all of us may play a very important role in the world.haha
